(Juhi Aishwary, Journalist): A boiler exploded in Stage-2 of Neyveli Lignite Plant in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu. According to the latest information, 6 people have died tragically in the accident, while 17 people have been injured. All those injured in the accident have been admitted to NLC Lignite Hospital.

Currently, the cause of the explosion has not been known yet. Fire brigade team is trying to overcome the situation. It is expected that the number of casualties may increase further. Cuddalore Superintendent of Police M Abhinav said, “An explosion in the boiler of the Neyveli lignite plant has killed 6 people and injured 17 people.”

According to the information, the accident occurred in the fifth unit of Thermal Power Station-II (210 MW x 7) when the workers were in the process of starting operations this morning. The official said that two people died on the spot. Some workers are feared trapped and 16 others are injured.

Explain that this is the second major explosion in two months. Earlier on May 7, there was an explosion in the boiler of the Neyveli power plant, in which 5 people were killed and 3 people were injured.
