(Namita Pradhan, Intern Journalist) Kolkata; Smriti Irani, Textiles Minister on Saturday said that the Covid-19 pandemic has given opportunities and the sector should commercialize this scope. She said the textile sector always looking to subsidy but it is needed to keep in mind that subsidy is the taxpayer’s money.
‘There is a need to see opportunities and not wait for another crisis’, Irani said on a webinar by ICC.
Providing an example, she said the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) category is a case in point.
Regarding the textile parks, the minister said that during the UPA rule, no rule was envisaged for the government of the state.
