The department issued a warning about the area of ​​pressure in the Arabian Sea and said that this pressure could turn into a storm cyclone in the next 12 hours and a severe cyclonic storm in the next 12 hours.

In the last 6 hours, 11 kilometers per hour has moved north

According to the Meteorological Department, the pressure being created in the East-Central Arabian Sea has moved northward in the last 6 hours at 11 km / h. It is expected to move almost northwards during the next 6 hours. It is centrally located 280 km west-southwest from central Panaji (Goa), 490 km south-southwest from Mumbai (Maharashtra), and 710 km south-southwest from Surat (Gujarat).

The coastal districts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Thane, Raigad, and Palghar are the worst affected by the storm. The Meteorological Department has advised fishermen not to move towards the southeast Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep region, and Kerala coast during the next 48 hours.
