Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist): Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey reached MMCH on Thursday, where he reviewed the arrangements there. Mangal Pandey also wore a PPE kit in the Covid ward of NMCH. Health Minister Mangal Pandey went around and took stock of the situation and inquired about the hospital arrangements from the patients there. Mangal Pandey also learned about the problems being faced by the patients admitted there.

After taking stock of the health system, Mangal Pandey said that in all 11 wards of the hospital, the in-charge has been given the responsibility of treatment. Health Minister has instructed to set up a help desk in NMCH in three days. Through the help desk, the patient’s family will be informed about their patient’s health. Patients coming to the hospital for treatment will be assisted through the help desk. At the same time, Mangal Pandey appealed to the people to immediately go to the nearby testing center if they feel any slight symptoms of the corona. A free inquiry has been arranged at the designated testing center. Reports will be received in one to half an hour.

The hardship of Corona patients has increased due to the strike by contract workers of the National Health Mission in Bihar. All contract workers, including pharmacists, ANMs, management personnel, have gone on strike since July 21. Normal patients including sample collection, distribution of PPE kits, etc., are also finding difficulty in treatment. The strike has affected the functioning of the state health committee to the block. At the same time, the Health Department is ready to give them incentive money. Apart from this, the government is considering other demands including an increase in honorarium, making the service permanent.
