India has got a big success. Now in the country, more and more samples of coronavirus have been able to be tested. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has approved the first batch of antibody testing kits made by Zydus Cadila. This kit is named ‘COVID Kavach ELISA’. It has been made in the National Institute of Virology, Pune. These kits are made by isolating the virus from patients in India.
According to the statement, Elisa kits will be used in the countrywide survey of the Ministry of Health. This kit will detect the spread of antibodies that appear after a patient is cured. ICMR will test 24,000 people in 69 districts of the country. The council said in its statement, ‘RT-PCR is the most primary test for detection of treatment of SARS-Cove2, it is an important antibody testing for understanding and monitoring the proportion of the infected population. ‘
ELISA antibody test blood bank can also be prepared
ELISA antibody tests are different from the rapid antibody tests used previously. The WHO has called ELISA a ‘very sensitive and specific’ test which is appropriate for a large number of sample tests per day. In addition, they can also be used to prepare surveillance studies or blood banks.
Two more companies talk of kit making
Let us tell you Zydus-Cadila is the first company to enter into an agreement to make this test kit. IMCR says that now the commission is also talking to Cipla Private Limited and NextGen Life Sciences to make such a kit.
