Amazon inaugurated its largest campus here on Wednesday. It will employ 15,000 employees. The campus is spread over 9.5 acres. The construction area is 3 million square feet. The building has 2.5 times more steel than the Eiffel Tower. It is the largest Amazon building in the world in terms of total area. The company’s Vice President (Global Real Estate and Facilities) John Schoettler gave this information. It was not known how much it cost to build the new campus.

4500 employees shifted to a new campus

Schoettler said that the company has 8 buildings in 4 million square feet of office space in Hyderabad. From there some employees are being shifted to the new campus. So far, about 4,500 employees have been shifted. Amazon’s focus on talent in India will be strengthened through the new campus. The company has 62 thousand full-time employees in India.

According to Amit Agarwal, senior vice president, and country manager at Amazon India, the new campus in Hyderabad is also the largest technology base in the US after Seattle (US) headquarters in Amazon.

There are software development engineers, machine learning scientists, product managers, finance and many other employees.
