(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) China has canceled 11 men’s and women’s tournaments to be held in October-November due to the corona virus epidemic, including WTA Finals. Instead of re-scheduling ATP and WTA tournaments, they decided to canceled them. China’s Sports Administration said on Friday that there will be no sporting events in the country this year. WTA President Steve Simone said, “We are sorry that we will not be able to have a world-class tournaments in China, we respect this decision and are eager to come to China next session.” At the same time, ATP chief Andrea Godenji said that we have to announce with a heavy heart that there will be no ATP tournaments in China this year.
